Wednesday 22nd September – walk **** – Orwell Country Park circuit – sunny and warm.

Another cracking day, deep blue sky and warm, August has been a cracker, might get even better tomorrow as a westerly breeze is forecast:) Usual morning at home, exercises in the back garden while Mag pots her bulbs, there was a hint of a breeze building but it looked marginal and being high water, I decided to pack a picnic and we drove to the outskirts of Ipswich parking up at Orwell Country Park. We set off through the bluebell woods with the flowers now replaced by lovely ferns and we did not see a soul, just how we like it:) Reaching the River Orwell there was a nice onshore breeze and the tide had only just turned so it was tight walking along the beach towards the bridge. We found a nice spot for our yummy, healthy salad under some trees with good views of the bridge watching several yachts out on the river:) Well rested we continue under the huge Orwell Bridge with its none stop noisy traffic and take the path that runs parallel to the A 14 and back to the van. We then do some shopping; I head to Sports direct as I need sone wetsuit shoes and I find them for £13 but also buy three nice Hot tuna t-shirts:) Mag goes to B & Q to get some gardening shoes and plants. Home where we have just enough time for a cuppa and cake after first visiting Lidl and checking out The Dip and picking up some shelves from the Ferry. Fingers crossed for some breeze tomorrow as I haven’t been windsurfing for a while now!

I was wondering if you would like to take a minute to vote for my pic in this years Felixstowe Photo Competition. My picture is FFF in the seashore section – all votes are greatly appreciated:)
